But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, because of the woman whom thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.

And the sons of Jacob came in from the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter; which thing ought not to be done.

This is the law of jealousy, when a wife, being under her husband, goeth aside, and is defiled;

Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith Jehovah.

Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of Jehovah:

Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

But unto the married I give charge, [yea] not I, but the Lord, That the wife depart not from her husband
