and thou shalt love^H157 Jehovah^H3068 thy God^H430 with all thy heart,^H3824 and with all thy soul,^H5315 and with all thy might.^H3966

These are the words^H1697 of the covenant^H1285 which Jehovah^H3068 commanded^H6680 Moses^H4872 to make^H3772 with the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 in the land^H776 of Moab,^H4124 besides the covenant^H1285 which he made^H3772 with them in Horeb.^H2722

So Joshua^H3091 made^H3772 a covenant^H1285 with the people^H5971 that day,^H3117 and set^H7760 them a statute^H2706 and an ordinance^H4941 in Shechem.^H7927

and she looked,^H7200 and, behold, the king^H4428 stood^H5975 by the pillar,^H5982 as the manner^H4941 was, and the captains^H8269 and the trumpets^H2689 by the king;^H4428 and all the people^H5971 of the land^H776 rejoiced,^H8056 and blew^H8628 trumpets.^H2689 Then Athaliah^H6271 rent^H7167 her clothes,^H899 and cried,^H7121 Treason!^H7195 treason!^H7195

(for Solomon^H8010 had made^H6213 a brazen^H5178 scaffold,^H3595 five^H2568 cubits^H520 long,^H753 and five^H2568 cubits^H520 broad,^H7341 and three^H7969 cubits^H520 high,^H6967 and had set^H5414 it in the midst^H8432 of the court;^H5835 and upon it he stood,^H5975 and kneeled down^H1288 upon his knees^H1290 before all the assembly^H6951 of Israel,^H3478 and spread forth^H6566 his hands^H3709 toward heaven;)^H8064

And all Judah^H3063 rejoiced^H8055 at the oath;^H7621 for they had sworn^H7650 with all their heart,^H3824 and sought^H1245 him with their whole desire;^H7522 and he was found^H4672 of them: and Jehovah^H3068 gave them rest^H5117 round about.^H5439

Now it is in my heart^H3824 to make^H3772 a covenant^H1285 with Jehovah,^H3068 the God^H430 of Israel,^H3478 that his fierce^H2740 anger^H639 may turn away^H7725 from us.

And in every work^H4639 that he began^H2490 in the service^H5656 of the house^H1004 of God,^H430 and in the law,^H8451 and in the commandments,^H4687 to seek^H1875 his God,^H430 he did^H6213 it with all his heart,^H3824 and prospered.^H6743

And yet for all this we make^H3772 a sure^H548 covenant, and write^H3789 it; and our princes,^H8269 our Levites,^H3881 [and] our priests,^H3548 seal^H2856 unto it.

and that we would not give^H5414 our daughters^H1323 unto the peoples^H5971 of the land,^H776 nor take^H3947 their daughters^H1323 for our sons;^H1121

I have sworn,^H7650 and have confirmed^H6965 it, That I will observe^H8104 thy righteous^H6664 ordinances.^H4941

They shall inquire^H7592 concerning^H1870 Zion^H6726 with their faces^H6440 thitherward,^H2008 [saying], Come^H935 ye, and join^H3867 yourselves to Jehovah^H3068 in an everlasting^H5769 covenant^H1285 that shall not be forgotten.^H7911
