2 that the kingH4428 saidH559 unto NathanH5416 the prophet,H5030 SeeH7200 now, I dwellH3427 in a houseH1004 of cedar,H730 but the arkH727 of GodH430 dwellethH3427 withinH8432 curtains.H3407
3 And NathanH5416 saidH559 to the king,H4428 Go,H3212 doH6213 all that is in thy heart;H3824 for JehovahH3068 is with thee.
4 And it came to pass the same night,H3915 that the wordH1697 of JehovahH3068 came unto Nathan,H5416 saying,H559
5 GoH3212 and tellH559 my servantH5650 David,H1732 Thus saithH559 Jehovah,H3068 Shalt thou buildH1129 me a houseH1004 for me to dwell in?H3427
6 for I have not dweltH3427 in a houseH1004 since the dayH3117 that I brought upH5927 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 out of Egypt,H4714 even to this day,H3117 but have walkedH1980 in a tentH168 and in a tabernacle.H4908
7 In all places wherein I have walkedH1980 with all the childrenH1121 of Israel,H3478 spakeH1696 I a wordH1697 with anyH259 of the tribesH7626 of Israel,H3478 whom I commandedH6680 to be shepherdH7462 of my peopleH5971 Israel,H3478 saying,H559 Why have ye not builtH1129 me a houseH1004 of cedar?H730
8 Now therefore thus shalt thou sayH559 unto my servantH5650 David,H1732 Thus saithH559 JehovahH3068 of hosts,H6635 I tookH3947 thee from the sheepcote,H5116 from followingH310 the sheep,H6629 that thou shouldest be princeH5057 over my people,H5971 over Israel;H3478
9 and I have been with thee whithersoever thou wentest,H1980 and have cut offH3772 all thine enemiesH341 from before thee;H6440 and I will makeH6213 thee a greatH1419 name,H8034 like unto the nameH8034 of the greatH1419 ones that are in the earth.H776
10 And I will appointH7760 a placeH4725 for my peopleH5971 Israel,H3478 and will plantH5193 them, that they may dwellH7931 in their own place, and be movedH7264 no more; neither shall the childrenH1121 of wickednessH5766 afflictH6031 them any more,H3254 as at the first,H7223
11 and [as] from the dayH3117 that I commandedH6680 judgesH8199 to be over my peopleH5971 Israel;H3478 and I will cause thee to restH5117 from all thine enemies.H341 Moreover JehovahH3068 tellethH5046 thee that Jehovah will makeH6213 thee a house.H1004
12 When thy daysH3117 are fulfilled,H4390 and thou shalt sleepH7901 with thy fathers,H1 I will set upH6965 thy seedH2233 afterH310 thee, that shall proceedH3318 out of thy bowels,H4578 and I will establishH3559 his kingdom.H4467
13 He shall buildH1129 a houseH1004 for my name,H8034 and I will establishH3559 the throneH3678 of his kingdomH4467 forH5704 ever.H5769
14 I will be his father,H1 and he shall be my son:H1121 if he commit iniquity,H5753 I will chastenH3198 him with the rodH7626 of men,H582 and with the stripesH5061 of the childrenH1121 of men;H120
15 but my lovingkindnessH2617 shall not depart fromH5493 him, as I tookH5493 it from Saul,H7586 whom I put awayH5493 beforeH6440 thee.
16 And thy houseH1004 and thy kingdomH4467 shall be madeH539 sure forH5704 everH5769 beforeH6440 thee: thy throneH3678 shall be establishedH3559 forH5704 ever.H5769
17 According to all these words,H1697 and according to all this vision,H2384 so did NathanH5416 speakH1696 unto David.H1732
18 Then DavidH1732 the kingH4428 wentH935 in, and satH3427 beforeH6440 Jehovah;H3068 and he said,H559 Who am I, O LordH136 Jehovah,H3069 and what is my house,H1004 that thou hast broughtH935 me thus far?H1988
19 And this was yet a small thingH6994 in thine eyes,H5869 O LordH136 Jehovah;H3069 but thou hast spokenH1696 also of thy servant'sH5650 houseH1004 for a great while to come;H7350 and this [too] after the mannerH8452 of men,H120 O LordH136 Jehovah!H3069
20 And what canH3254 DavidH1732 sayH1696 moreH3254 unto thee? for thou knowestH3045 thy servant,H5650 O LordH136 Jehovah.H3069
21 For thy word'sH1697 sake, and according to thine own heart,H3820 hast thou wroughtH6213 all this greatness,H1420 to make thy servantH5650 knowH3045 it.
22 Wherefore thou art great,H1431 O JehovahH3068 God:H430 for there is none like thee, neither is there any GodH430 besidesH2108 thee, according to all that we have heardH8085 with our ears.H241
23 And what oneH259 nationH1471 in the earthH776 is like thy people,H5971 even like Israel,H3478 whom GodH430 wentH1980 to redeemH6299 unto himself for a people,H5971 and to makeH7760 him a name,H8034 and to doH6213 great thingsH1420 for you, and terribleH3372 things for thy land,H776 beforeH6440 thy people,H5971 whom thou redeemestH6299 to thee out of Egypt,H4714 [from] the nationsH1471 and their gods?H430
24 And thou didst establishH3559 to thyself thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478 to be a peopleH5971 unto thee forH5704 ever;H5769 and thou, Jehovah,H3068 becamestH1961 their God.H430
25 And now, O JehovahH3068 God,H430 the wordH1697 that thou hast spokenH1696 concerning thy servant,H5650 and concerning his house,H1004 confirmH6965 thou it forH5704 ever,H5769 and doH6213 as thou hast spoken.H1696
26 And let thy nameH8034 be magnifiedH1431 forH5704 ever,H5769 saying,H559 JehovahH3068 of hostsH6635 is GodH430 over Israel;H3478 and the houseH1004 of thy servantH5650 DavidH1732 shall be establishedH3559 beforeH6440 thee.
27 For thou, O JehovahH3068 of hosts,H6635 the GodH430 of Israel,H3478 hast revealedH1540 to thy servant,H5650 saying,H559 I will buildH1129 thee a house:H1004 therefore hath thy servantH5650 foundH4672 in his heartH3820 to prayH6419 this prayerH8605 unto thee.
28 And now, O LordH136 Jehovah,H3069 thou art God,H430 and thy wordsH1697 are truth,H571 and thou hast promisedH1696 this goodH2896 thing unto thy servant:H5650
29 now therefore let it pleaseH2974 thee to blessH1288 the houseH1004 of thy servant,H5650 that it may continue for everH5769 beforeH6440 thee; for thou, O LordH136 Jehovah,H3069 hast spokenH1696 it: and with thy blessingH1293 let the houseH1004 of thy servantH5650 be blessedH1288 for ever.H5769
