Notwithstanding, no devoted thing,^H2764 that a man^H376 shall devote^H2763 unto Jehovah^H3068 of all that he hath, whether of man^H120 or beast,^H929 or of the field^H7704 of his possession,^H272 shall be sold^H4376 or redeemed:^H1350 every devoted thing^H2764 is most^H6944 holy^H6944 unto Jehovah.^H3068

And we utterly destroyed^H2763 them, as we did^H6213 unto Sihon^H5511 king^H4428 of Heshbon,^H2809 utterly destroying^H2763 every inhabited^H4962 city,^H5892 with the women^H802 and the little ones.^H2945

And thou shalt not bring^H935 an abomination^H8441 into thy house,^H1004 and become a devoted thing^H2764 like unto it: thou shalt utterly^H8262 detest^H8262 it, and thou shalt utterly^H8581 abhor^H8581 it; for it is a devoted thing.^H2764

And they utterly destroyed^H2763 all that was in the city,^H5892 both man^H376 and woman,^H802 both young^H5288 and old,^H2205 and ox,^H7794 and sheep,^H7716 and ass,^H2543 with the edge^H6310 of the sword.^H2719

And all that fell^H5307 that day,^H3117 both of men^H376 and women,^H802 were twelve^H8147 thousand,^H505 even all the men^H376 of Ai.^H5857

And they answered^H6030 Joshua,^H3091 and said,^H559 Because it was certainly^H5046 told^H5046 thy servants,^H5650 how that Jehovah^H3068 thy God^H430 commanded^H6680 his servant^H5650 Moses^H4872 to give^H5414 you all the land,^H776 and to destroy^H8045 all the inhabitants^H3427 of the land^H776 from before^H6440 you; therefore we were sore^H3966 afraid^H3372 for our lives^H5315 because^H6440 of you, and have done^H6213 this thing.^H1697

So Joshua^H3091 smote^H5221 all the land,^H776 the hill-country,^H2022 and the South,^H5045 and the lowland,^H8219 and the slopes,^H794 and all their kings:^H4428 he left^H7604 none remaining,^H8300 but he utterly destroyed^H2763 all that breathed,^H5397 as Jehovah,^H3068 the God^H430 of Israel,^H3478 commanded.^H6680

Now go^H3212 and smite^H5221 Amalek,^H6002 and utterly destroy^H2763 all that they have, and spare^H2550 them not; but slay^H4191 both man^H376 and woman,^H802 infant^H5768 and suckling,^H3243 ox^H7794 and sheep,^H7716 camel^H1581 and ass.^H2543
