ASVs · الأصحاح 6
T here isH3426 an evilH7451 which I have seenH7200 under the sun,H8121 and it is heavyH7227 upon men:H120
a manH376 to whom GodH430 givethH5414 riches,H6239 wealth,H6239 and honor,H3519 so that he lackethH2638 nothing for his soulH5315 of all that he desireth,H183 yet GodH430 giveth him not powerH7980 to eatH398 thereof, but an alienH376 eatethH398 it; this is vanity,H1892 and it is an evilH7451 disease.H2483
If a manH376 begetH3205 a hundredH3967 children, and liveH2421 manyH7227 years,H8141 so that the daysH3117 of his yearsH8141 are many,H7227 but his soulH5315 be not filledH7646 with good,H2896 and moreover he have no burial;H6900 I say,H559 that an untimely birthH5309 is betterH2896 than he:
for it comethH935 in vanity,H1892 and departethH3212 in darkness,H2822 and the nameH8034 thereof is coveredH3680 with darkness;H2822
moreover it hath not seenH7200 the sunH8121 nor knownH3045 it; thisH2088 hath restH5183 rather thanH2088 the other:
yea, thoughH432 he liveH2421 a thousandH505 yearsH8141 twiceH6471 told, and yet enjoyH7200 no good,H2896 do not all goH1980 to oneH259 place?H4725
All the laborH5999 of manH120 is for his mouth,H6310 and yet the appetiteH5315 is not filled.H4390
For what advantage hath the wiseH2450 moreH3148 than the fool?H3684 [or] what hath the poorH6041 man, that knowethH3045 how to walkH1980 before the living?H2416
BetterH2896 is the sightH4758 of the eyesH5869 than the wanderingH1980 of the desire:H5315 this also is vanityH1892 and a strivingH7469 after wind.H7307
Whatsoever hath been, the nameH7121 thereof was given long ago;H3528 and it is knownH3045 what manH120 is; neither canH3201 he contendH1777 with him that is mightierH8623 than he.
Seeing there areH3426 manyH7235 thingsH1697 that increaseH7235 vanity,H1892 what is manH120 the better?H3148
For who knowethH3045 what is goodH2896 for manH120 in [his] life,H2416 allH4557 the daysH3117 of his vainH1892 lifeH2416 which he spendethH6213 as a shadow?H6738 for who can tellH5046 a manH120 what shall be afterH310 him under the sun?H8121
