and I have said unto thee, Let my son^H1121 go,^H7971 that he may serve^H5647 me; and thou hast refused^H3985 to let him go:^H7971 behold, I will slay^H2026 thy son,^H1121 thy first-born.^H1060

As yet exaltest^H5549 thou thyself against my people,^H5971 that thou wilt not let them go?^H7971

How long [shall I bear] with this evil^H7451 congregation,^H5712 that murmur^H3885 against me? I have heard^H8085 the murmurings^H8519 of the children^H1121 of Israel,^H3478 which they murmur^H3885 against me.

Seest^H7200 thou how Ahab^H256 humbleth^H3665 himself before^H6440 me? because^H3282 he humbleth^H3665 himself before^H6440 me, I will not bring^H935 the evil^H7451 in his days;^H3117 but in his son's^H1121 days^H3117 will I bring^H935 the evil^H7451 upon his house.^H1004

And when he was in distress,^H6887 he besought^H2470 Jehovah^H3068 his God,^H430 and humbled^H3665 himself greatly^H3966 before^H6440 the God^H430 of his fathers.^H1

because thy heart^H3824 was tender,^H7401 and thou didst humble^H3665 thyself before^H6440 God,^H430 when thou heardest^H8085 his words^H1697 against this place,^H4725 and against the inhabitants^H3427 thereof, and hast humbled^H3665 thyself before^H6440 me, and hast rent^H7167 thy clothes,^H899 and wept^H1058 before^H6440 me; I also have heard^H8085 thee, saith^H5002 Jehovah.^H3068

How long, ye simple ones,^H6612 will ye love^H157 simplicity?^H6612 And scoffers^H3887 delight^H2530 them in scoffing,^H3944 And fools^H3684 hate^H8130 knowledge?^H1847

Before^H6440 destruction^H7667 the heart^H3820 of man^H376 is haughty;^H1361 And before^H6440 honor^H3519 [goeth] humility.^H6038

The lofty^H1365 looks^H5869 of man^H120 shall be brought low,^H8213 and the haughtiness^H7312 of men^H582 shall be bowed down,^H7817 and Jehovah^H3068 alone shall be exalted^H7682 in that day.^H3117

Say^H559 thou unto the king^H4428 and to the queen-mother,^H1377 Humble^H8213 yourselves, sit down;^H3427 for your headtires^H4761 are come down,^H3381 even the crown^H5850 of your glory.^H8597

Or^G2228 despisest^G2706 thou the riches^G4149 of his^G846 goodness^G5544 and^G2532 forbearance^G463 and^G2532 longsuffering,^G3115 not knowing^G50 that^G3754 the goodness^G5543 of God^G2316 leadeth^G71 thee^G4571 to^G1519 repentance?^G3341

Humble yourselves^G5013 in the sight of^G1799 the Lord,^G2962 and^G2532 he shall exalt^{G5312 G5312} you.^G5209
