But he lingered;^H4102 and the men^H582 laid hold^H2388 upon his hand,^H3027 and upon the hand^H3027 of his wife,^H802 and upon the hand^H3027 of his two^H8147 daughters,^H1323 Jehovah^H3068 being merciful^H2551 unto him: and they brought him^H3240 forth,^H3318 and set him^H3240 without the city.^H5892

And Moses^H4872 came^H935 and told^H5608 the people^H5971 all the words^H1697 of Jehovah,^H3068 and all the ordinances:^H4941 and all the people^H5971 answered^H6030 with one^H259 voice,^H6963 and said,^H559 All the words^H1697 which Jehovah^H3068 hath spoken^H559 will we do.^H6213

And he said,^H559 Behold, I make^H3772 a covenant:^H1285 before all thy people^H5971 I will do^H6213 marvels,^H6381 such as have not been wrought^H1254 in all the earth,^H776 nor in any nation;^H1471 and all the people^H5971 among^H7130 which thou art shall see^H7200 the work^H4639 of Jehovah;^H3068 for it is a terrible thing^H3372 that I do^H6213 with thee.

Jehovah^H3068 our God^H430 made^H3772 a covenant^H1285 with us in Horeb.^H2722

that thou mayest enter^H5674 into the covenant^H1285 of Jehovah^H3068 thy God,^H430 and into his oath,^H423 which Jehovah^H3068 thy God^H430 maketh^H3772 with thee this day;^H3117

And Jehovah^H3068 said^H559 unto Moses,^H4872 Behold, thou shalt sleep^H7901 with thy fathers;^H1 and this people^H5971 will rise up,^H6965 and play the harlot^H2181 after^H310 the strange^H5236 gods^H430 of the land,^H776 whither they go^H935 to be among^H7130 them, and will forsake^H5800 me, and break^H6565 my covenant^H1285 which I have made^H3772 with them.

Yet ye have forsaken^H5800 me, and served^H5647 other^H312 gods:^H430 wherefore I will save^H3467 you no more.^H3254

Behold, God^H410 will not cast away^H3988 a perfect^H8535 man, Neither will he uphold^H2388 the evil-doers.^H7489

They kept^H8104 not the covenant^H1285 of God,^H430 And refused^H3985 to walk^H3212 in his law;^H8451

But turned back,^H5472 and dealt treacherously^H898 like their fathers:^H1 They were turned aside^H2015 like a deceitful^H7423 bow.^H7198

And brought out^H3318 Israel^H3478 from among^H8432 them; For his lovingkindness^H2617 [endureth] for ever;^H5769

The earth^H776 also is polluted^H2610 under the inhabitants^H3427 thereof; because they have transgressed^H5674 the laws,^H8451 violated^H2498 the statutes,^H2706 broken^H6565 the everlasting^H5769 covenant.^H1285

For I, Jehovah^H3068 thy God,^H430 will hold^H2388 thy right hand,^H3225 saying^H559 unto thee, Fear^H3372 not; I will help^H5826 thee.

In all their affliction^H6869 he was afflicted,^H6862 and the angel^H4397 of his presence^H6440 saved^H3467 them: in his love^H160 and in his pity^H2551 he redeemed^H1350 them; and he bare^H5190 them, and carried^H5375 them all the days^H3117 of old.^H5769

For I earnestly^H5749 protested^H5749 unto your fathers^H1 in the day^H3117 that I brought them up^H5927 out of the land^H776 of Egypt,^H4714 even unto this day,^H3117 rising early^H7925 and protesting,^H5749 saying,^H559 Obey^H8085 my voice.^H6963

not according to the covenant^H1285 that I made^H3772 with their fathers^H1 in the day^H3117 that I took^H2388 them by the hand^H3027 to bring them out^H3318 of the land^H776 of Egypt;^H4714 which my covenant^H1285 they brake,^H6565 although I was a husband^H1166 unto them, saith^H5002 Jehovah.^H3068

Now when I passed^H5674 by thee, and looked^H7200 upon thee, behold, thy time^H6256 was the time^H6256 of love;^H1730 and I spread^H6566 my skirt^H3671 over thee, and covered^H3680 thy nakedness:^H6172 yea, I sware^H7650 unto thee, and entered^H935 into a covenant^H1285 with thee, saith^H5002 the Lord^H136 Jehovah,^H3069 and thou becamest mine.

And I will cause you to pass^H5674 under the rod,^H7626 and I will bring^H935 you into the bond^H4562 of the covenant;^H1285

And this again^H8145 ye do:^H6213 ye cover^H3680 the altar^H4196 of Jehovah^H3068 with tears,^H1832 with weeping,^H1065 and with sighing,^H603 insomuch that he regardeth^H6437 not the offering^H4503 any more, neither receiveth^H3947 it with good will^H7522 at your hand.^H3027

And^G1161 Saul^G4569 arose^G1453 from^G575 the earth;^G1093 and when^G1161 his^G846 eyes^G3788 were opened,^G455 he saw^G991 nothing;^G3762 and^G1161 they led^G5496 him^G846 by the hand,^G5496 and brought^G1521 him into^G1519 Damascus.^G1154

Brethren,^G80 I speak^G3004 after the manner of^G2596 men:^G444 Though^G3676 it be but^G3676 a man's^G444 covenant,^G1242 yet when it hath been confirmed,^G2964 no one^G3762 maketh it void,^G114 or^G2228 addeth thereto.^G1928

Wherefore^G3606 even the first^G4413 [covenant] hath not^G3761 been dedicated^G1457 without^G5565 blood.^G129
