And he was sore^H3966 athirst,^H6770 and called^H7121 on Jehovah,^H3068 and said,^H559 Thou hast given^H5414 this great^H1419 deliverance^H8668 by the hand^H3027 of thy servant;^H5650 and now shall I die^H4191 for thirst,^H6772 and fall^H5307 into the hand^H3027 of the uncircumcised.^H6189

The land^H776 mourneth^H56 and languisheth;^H535 Lebanon^H3844 is confounded^H2659 and withereth away;^H7060 Sharon^H8289 is like a desert;^H6160 and Bashan^H1316 and Carmel^H3760 shake off^H5287 [their leaves].

Thy holy^H6944 cities^H5892 are become a wilderness,^H4057 Zion^H6726 is become a wilderness,^H4057 Jerusalem^H3389 a desolation.^H8077

O generation,^H1755 see^H7200 ye the word^H1697 of Jehovah.^H3068 Have I been a wilderness^H4057 unto Israel?^H3478 or a land^H776 of thick darkness?^H3991 wherefore say^H559 my people,^H5971 We are broken loose;^H7300 we will come^H935 no more unto thee?

Many^H7227 shepherds^H7462 have destroyed^H7843 my vineyard,^H3754 they have trodden^H947 my portion^H2513 under foot,^H947 they have made^H5414 my pleasant^H2532 portion^H2513 a desolate^H8077 wilderness.^H4057

Therefore will I also uncover^H2834 thy skirts^H7757 upon thy face,^H6440 and thy shame^H7036 shall appear.^H7200

For thus saith^H559 Jehovah^H3068 concerning the house^H1004 of the king^H4428 of Judah:^H3063 Thou art Gilead^H1568 unto me, [and] the head^H7218 of Lebanon;^H3844 [yet] surely I will make^H7896 thee a wilderness,^H4057 [and] cities^H5892 which are not inhabited.^H3427

Her cities^H5892 are become a desolation,^H8047 a dry^H6723 land,^H776 and a desert,^H6160 a land^H776 wherein no man^H376 dwelleth,^H3427 neither doth any son^H1121 of man^H120 pass^H5674 thereby.^H2004

And in all thine abominations^H8441 and thy whoredoms^H8457 thou hast not remembered^H2142 the days^H3117 of thy youth,^H5271 when thou wast naked^H5903 and bare,^H6181 and wast weltering^H947 in thy blood.^H1818

And now it is planted^H8362 in the wilderness,^H4057 in a dry^H6723 and thirsty^H6772 land.^H776

They shall also strip^H6584 thee of thy clothes,^H899 and take away^H3947 thy fair^H8597 jewels.^H3627

Behold, the days^H3117 come,^H935 saith^H5002 the Lord^H136 Jehovah,^H136 that I will send^H7971 a famine^H7458 in the land,^H776 not a famine^H7458 of bread,^H3899 nor a thirst^H6772 for water,^H4325 but of hearing^H8085 the words^H1697 of Jehovah.^H3068
