M an,H120 that is bornH3205 of a woman,H802 Is of fewH7116 days,H3117 and fullH7649 of trouble.H7267

He cometh forthH3318 like a flower,H6731 and is cut down:H5243 He fleethH1272 also as a shadow,H6738 and continuethH5975 not.

And dost thou openH6491 thine eyesH5869 upon such a one,H2088 And bringestH935 me into judgmentH4941 with thee?

Who can bringH5414 a cleanH2889 thing out of an unclean?H2931 not one.H259

SeeingH518 his daysH3117 are determined,H2782 The numberH4557 of his monthsH2320 is with thee, And thou hast appointedH6213 his boundsH2706 that he cannot pass;H5674

LookH8159 away from him, that he may rest,H2308 Till he shall accomplish,H7521 as a hireling,H7916 his day.H3117

For there isH3426 hopeH8615 of a tree,H6086 If it be cut down,H3772 that it will sprout again,H2498 And that the tender branchH3127 thereof will not cease.H2308

Though the rootH8328 thereof wax oldH2204 in the earth,H776 And the stockH1503 thereof dieH4191 in the ground;H6083

Yet through the scentH7381 of waterH4325 it will bud,H6524 And put forthH6213 boughsH7105 like a plant.H5194

But manH1397 dieth,H4191 and is laid low:H2522 Yea, manH120 giveth up the ghost,H1478 and where is he?

[ As] the watersH4325 failH235 from the sea,H3220 And the riverH5104 wastethH2717 and drieth up;H3001

So manH376 lieth downH7901 and risethH6965 not: Till the heavensH8064 be no more,H1115 they shall not awake,H6974 Nor be roused outH5782 of their sleep.H8142

Oh thatH5414 thou wouldest hideH6845 me in Sheol,H7585 That thou wouldest keep me secret,H5641 until thy wrathH639 be past,H7725 That thou wouldest appointH7896 me a set time,H2706 and rememberH2142 me!

If a manH1397 die,H4191 shall he liveH2421 [again]? All the daysH3117 of my warfareH6635 would I wait,H3176 Till my releaseH2487 should come.H935

Thou wouldest call,H7121 and I would answerH6030 thee: Thou wouldest have a desireH3700 to the workH4639 of thy hands.H3027

But now thou numberestH5608 my steps:H6806 Dost thou not watchH8104 over my sin?H2403

My transgressionH6588 is sealed upH2856 in a bag,H6872 And thou fastenest upH2950 mine iniquity.H5771

ButH199 the mountainH2022 fallingH5307 cometh to nought;H5034 And the rockH6697 is removedH6275 out of its place;H4725

The watersH4325 wearH7833 the stones;H68 The overflowings thereof wash awayH7857 theH5599 dustH6083 of the earth:H776 So thou destroyestH6 the hopeH8615 of man.H582

Thou prevailestH8630 for everH5331 against him, and he passeth;H1980 Thou changestH8138 his countenance,H6440 and sendest him away.H7971

His sonsH1121 come to honor,H3513 and he knowethH3045 it not; And they are brought low,H6819 but he perceivethH995 it not of them.

But his fleshH1320 upon him hath pain,H3510 And his soulH5315 within him mourneth.H56
