T hen JobH347 answeredH6030 and said,H559

HearH8085 diligentlyH8085 my speech;H4405 And let this be your consolations.H8575

SufferH5375 me, and I also will speak;H1696 And afterH310 that I have spoken,H1696 mock on.H3932

As for me, is my complaintH7879 to man?H120 And why should IH7307 not be impatient?H7114

MarkH6437 me, and be astonished,H8074 And layH7760 your handH3027 upon your mouth.H6310

Even when I rememberH2142 I am troubled,H926 And horrorH6427 taketh hold onH270 my flesh.H1320

Wherefore do the wickedH7563 live,H2421 Become old,H6275 yea, wax mightyH1396 in power?H2428

Their seedH2233 is establishedH3559 with them in their sight,H6440 And their offspringH6631 before their eyes.H5869

Their housesH1004 are safeH7965 from fear,H6343 Neither is the rodH7626 of GodH433 upon them.

Their bullH7794 gendereth,H5674 and failethH1602 not; Their cowH6510 calveth,H6403 and casteth not her calf.H7921

They send forthH7971 their little onesH5759 like a flock,H6629 And their childrenH3206 dance.H7540

They singH5375 to the timbrelH8596 and harp,H3658 And rejoiceH8055 at the soundH6963 of the pipe.H5748

They spendH3615 their daysH3117 in prosperity,H2896 And in a momentH7281 they go downH2865 to Sheol.H7585

And they sayH559 unto God,H410 DepartH5493 from us; For we desireH2654 not the knowledgeH1847 of thy ways.H1870

What is the Almighty,H7706 that we should serveH5647 him? And what profitH3276 should we have, if we prayH6293 unto him?

Lo, their prosperityH2898 is not in their hand:H3027 The counselH6098 of the wickedH7563 is farH7368 from me.

How oft is it that the lampH5216 of the wickedH7563 is put out?H1846 That their calamityH343 comethH935 upon them? That [God] distributethH2505 sorrowsH2256 in his anger?H639

That they are as stubbleH8401 beforeH6440 the wind,H7307 And as chaffH4671 that the stormH5492 carrieth away?H1589

[Ye say], GodH433 layeth upH6845 his iniquityH205 for his children.H1121 Let him recompenseH7999 it unto himself, that he may knowH3045 it:

Let his own eyesH5869 seeH7200 his destruction,H3589 And let him drinkH8354 of the wrathH2534 of the Almighty.H7706

For what carethH2656 he for his houseH1004 afterH310 him, When the numberH4557 of his monthsH2320 is cut off?H2686

Shall any teachH3925 GodH410 knowledge,H1847 Seeing he judgethH8199 those that are high?H7311

One diethH4191 in his fullH8537 strength,H6106 Being wholly at easeH7946 and quiet:H7961

His pailsH5845 are fullH4390 of milk,H2461 And the marrowH4221 of his bonesH6106 is moistened.H8248

And another diethH4191 in bitternessH4751 of soul,H5315 And never tastethH398 of good.H2896

They lie downH7901 alikeH3162 in the dust,H6083 And the wormH7415 coverethH3680 them.

Behold, I knowH3045 your thoughts,H4284 And the devicesH4209 wherewith ye would wrongH2554 me.

For ye say,H559 Where is the houseH1004 of the prince?H5081 And where is the tentH4908 wherein the wickedH7563 dwelt?H4908

Have ye not askedH7592 wayfaringH1870 men?H5674 And do ye not knowH5234 their evidences,H226

That the evilH7451 man is reservedH2820 to the dayH3117 of calamity?H343 That they are led forthH2986 to the dayH3117 of wrath?H5678

Who shall declareH5046 his wayH1870 to his face?H6440 And who shall repayH7999 him what he hath done?H6213

Yet shall he be borneH2986 to the grave,H6913 And men shall keep watchH8245 over the tomb.H1430

The clodsH7263 of the valleyH5158 shall be sweetH4985 unto him, And all menH120 shall drawH4900 afterH310 him, As there were innumerableH4557 beforeH6440 him.

How then comfortH5162 ye me in vain,H1892 Seeing in your answersH8666 there remainethH7604 [only] falsehood?H4604
