W hy are timesH6256 not laid upH6845 by the Almighty?H7706 And why do not they that knowH3045 him seeH2372 his days?H3117

There are that removeH5381 the landmarks;H1367 They violently take awayH1497 flocks,H5739 and feedH7462 them.

They drive awayH5090 the assH2543 of the fatherless;H3490 They takeH2254 the widow'sH490 oxH7794 for a pledge.H2254

They turnH5186 the needyH34 out of the way:H1870 The poorH6041 of the earthH776 allH3162 hideH2244 themselves.

Behold, as wild assesH6501 in the desertH4057 They go forthH3318 to their work,H6467 seeking diligentlyH7836 for food;H2964 The wildernessH6160 [yieldeth] them breadH3899 for their children.H5288

They cutH7114 their provenderH1098 in the field;H7704 And they gleanH3953 the vintageH3754 of the wicked.H7563

They lie all nightH3885 nakedH6174 without clothing,H3830 And have no coveringH3682 in the cold.H7135

They are wetH7372 with the showersH2230 of the mountains,H2022 And embraceH2263 the rockH6697 for want of a shelter.H4268

There are that pluckH1497 the fatherlessH3490 from the breast,H7699 And take a pledgeH2254 of the poor;H6041

[ So that] they goH1980 about nakedH6174 without clothing,H3830 And being hungryH7457 they carryH5375 the sheaves.H6016

They make oilH6671 withinH996 the wallsH7791 of these men; They treadH1869 [their] winepresses,H3342 and suffer thirst.H6770

From out of the populous cityH5892 menH4962 groan,H5008 And the soulH5315 of the woundedH2491 crieth out:H7768 Yet GodH433 regardethH7760 not the folly.H8604

These are of them that rebelH4775 against the light;H216 They knowH5234 not the waysH1870 thereof, Nor abideH3427 in the pathsH5410 thereof.

The murdererH7523 risethH6965 with the light;H216 He killethH6991 the poorH6041 and needy;H6041 And in the nightH3915 he is as a thief.H1590

The eyeH5869 also of the adultererH5003 waitethH8104 for the twilight,H5399 Saying,H559 No eyeH5869 shall seeH7789 me: And he disguisethH5643 his face.H6440

In the darkH2822 they dig throughH2864 houses:H1004 They shutH2856 themselves up in the day-time;H3119 They knowH3045 not the light.H216

For the morningH1242 is to all of them asH3162 thick darkness;H6757 For they knowH5234 the terrorsH1091 of the thick darkness.H6757

Swiftly they [pass away]H7031 upon the face of the waters;H6440 Their portionH2513 is cursedH7043 in the earth:H776 They turnH6437 not into the wayH1870 of the vineyards.H3754

DroughtH6723 and heatH2527 consumeH1497 the snowH7950 waters:H4325 [So doth] SheolH7585 [those that] have sinned.H2398

The wombH7358 shall forgetH7911 him; The wormH7415 shall feed sweetlyH4988 on him; He shall be no more remembered;H2142 And unrighteousnessH5766 shall be brokenH7665 as a tree.H6086

He devourethH7462 the barrenH6135 that bearethH3205 not, And doeth not goodH3190 to the widow.H490

Yet [God] preservethH4900 the mightyH47 by his power:H3581 He riseth upH6965 that hath no assuranceH539 of life.H2416

[ God] givethH5414 them to be in security,H983 and they restH8172 thereon; And his eyesH5869 are upon their ways.H1870

They are exalted;H7426 yet a little while,H4592 and they are gone; Yea, they are brought low,H4355 they are taken outH7092 of the wayH1870 as all others, And are cut offH5243 as the topsH7218 of the ears of grain.H7641

And if it be not so now,H645 who will proveH7760 me a liar,H3576 And makeH7760 my speechH4405 nothing worth?H408
