T hen JobH347 answeredH6030 and said,H559

Oh thatH3863 my vexationH3708 were butH8254 weighed,H8254 And all my calamityH1942 laidH5375 inH3162 the balances!H3976

For now it would be heavierH3513 than the sandH2344 of the seas:H3220 Therefore have my wordsH1697 been rash.H3886

For the arrowsH2671 of the AlmightyH7706 are withinH5978 me, The poisonH2534 whereof my spiritH7307 drinketh up:H8354 The terrorsH1161 of GodH433 do set themselves in arrayH6186 against me.

Doth the wild assH6501 brayH5101 when he hath grass?H1877 Or lowethH1600 the oxH7794 over his fodder?H1098

Can that which hath no savorH8602 be eatenH398 without salt?H4417 Or is thereH3426 any tasteH2940 in the whiteH7388 of an egg?H2495

My soulH5315 refusethH3985 to touchH5060 [them]; They are as loathsomeH1741 foodH3899 to me.

Oh that I might haveH935 my request;H7596 And that GodH433 would grantH5414 [me] the thing that I long for!H8615

Even that it would pleaseH2974 GodH433 to crushH1792 me; That he would let looseH5425 his hand,H3027 and cut me off!H1214

And be it still my consolation,H5165 Yea, let me exultH5539 in painH2427 that sparethH2550 not, That I have not deniedH3582 the wordsH561 of the Holy One.H6918

What is my strength,H3581 that I should wait?H3176 And what is mine end,H7093 that I should be H5315 patient?H748

Is my strengthH3581 the strengthH3581 of stones?H68 Or is my fleshH1320 of brass?H5153

Is it not that I have no helpH5833 in me, And that wisdomH8454 is driven quiteH5080 from me?

To him that is readyH4523 to faint kindnessH2617 [should be showed] from his friend;H7453 Even to him that forsakethH5800 the fearH3374 of the Almighty.H7706

My brethrenH251 have dealt deceitfullyH898 as a brook,H5158 As the channelH650 of brooksH5158 that pass away;H5674

Which are blackH6937 by reason of the ice,H7140 [And] wherein the snowH7950 hidethH5956 itself:

What timeH6256 they wax warm,H2215 they vanish;H6789 When it is hot,H2527 they are consumed outH1846 of their place.H4725

The caravansH734 [that travel] by the wayH1870 of them turn aside;H3943 They goH5927 up into the waste,H8414 and perish.H6

The caravansH734 of TemaH8485 looked,H5027 The companiesH1979 of ShebaH7614 waitedH6960 for them.

They were put to shameH954 because they had hoped;H982 They cameH935 thither, and were confounded.H2659

For now ye are nothing; Ye seeH7200 a terror,H2866 and are afraid.H3372

Did I say,H559 GiveH3051 unto me? Or, Offer a presentH3051 for me of your substance?H3581

Or, DeliverH4422 me from the adversary'sH6862 hand?H3027 Or, RedeemH6299 me from the handH3027 of the oppressors?H6184

TeachH3384 me, and I will hold my peace;H2790 And cause me to understandH995 wherein I have erred.H7686

How forcibleH4834 are wordsH561 of uprightness!H3476 But your reproof,H3198 what doth it reprove?H3198

Do ye thinkH2803 to reproveH3198 words,H4405 Seeing that the speechesH561 of one that is desperateH2976 are as wind?H7307

Yea, ye would cast [lots]H5307 upon the fatherless,H3490 And make merchandiseH3738 of your friend.H7453

Now therefore be pleasedH2974 to lookH6437 upon me; For surelyH6440 I shall not lieH3576 to your face.

Return,H7725 I pray you, let there be no injustice;H5766 Yea, return again,H7725 my cause is righteous.H6664

Is thereH3426 injusticeH5766 on my tongue?H3956 Cannot my tasteH2441 discernH995 mischievous things?H1942
