T hen JobH347 answeredH6030 and said,H559

Of a truthH551 I knowH3045 that it is so: But how can manH582 be justH6663 with God?H410

If he beH2654 pleased to contendH7378 with him, He cannot answerH6030 him oneH259 of a thousand.H505

[ He is] wiseH2450 in heart,H3824 and mightyH533 in strength:H3581 Who hath hardenedH7185 himself against him, and prospered? --H7999

[ Him] that removethH6275 the mountains,H2022 and they knowH3045 it not, When he overturnethH2015 them in his anger;H639

That shakethH7264 the earthH776 out of its place,H4725 And the pillarsH5982 thereof tremble;H6426

That commandethH559 the sun,H2775 and it risethH2224 not, And sealeth upH2856 the stars;H3556

That alone stretcheth outH5186 the heavens,H8064 And treadethH1869 upon the wavesH1116 of the sea;H3220

That makethH6213 the Bear,H5906 Orion,H3685 and the Pleiades,H3598 And the chambersH2315 of the south;H8486

That doethH6213 great thingsH1419 pastH369 finding out,H2714 Yea, marvellousH6381 things without number.H4557

Lo, he goethH5674 by me, and I seeH7200 him not: He passeth onH2498 also, but I perceiveH995 him not.

Behold, he seizethH2862 [the prey], who can hinderH7725 him? Who will sayH559 unto him, What doestH6213 thou?

GodH433 will not withdrawH7725 his anger;H639 The helpersH5826 of RahabH7293 do stoopH7817 under him.

How much less shall I answerH6030 him, And choose outH977 my wordsH1697 [to reason] with him?

Whom, though I were righteous,H6663 yet would I not answer;H6030 I would make supplicationH2603 to my judge.H8199

If I had called,H7121 and he had answeredH6030 me, Yet would I not believeH539 that he hearkenedH238 unto my voice.H6963

For he breakethH7779 me with a tempest,H8183 And multipliethH7235 my woundsH6482 without cause.H2600

He will not sufferH5414 me to takeH7725 my breath,H7307 But fillethH7646 me with bitterness.H4472

If [we speak] of strength,H3581 lo, [he is] mighty!H533 And if of justice,H4941 Who, [saith he], will summonH3259 me?

Though I be righteous,H6663 mine own mouthH6310 shall condemnH7561 me: Though I be perfect,H8535 it shall prove me perverse.H6140

I am perfect;H8535 I regardH3045 not myself;H5315 I despiseH3988 my life.H5315

It is all one;H259 therefore I say,H559 He destroyethH3615 the perfectH8535 and the wicked.H7563

If the scourgeH7752 slayH4191 suddenly,H6597 He will mockH3932 at the trialH4531 of the innocent.H5355

The earthH776 is givenH5414 into the handH3027 of the wicked;H7563 He coverethH3680 the facesH6440 of the judgesH8199 thereof: If [it be] not [he], whoH645 then is it?

Now my daysH3117 are swifterH7043 than a post:H7323 They flee away,H1272 they seeH7200 no good,H2896

They are passed awayH2498 asH5973 the swiftH16 ships;H591 As the eagleH5404 that swoopethH2907 on the prey.H400

If I say,H559 I will forgetH7911 my complaint,H7879 I will put offH5800 my [sad] countenance,H6440 and be of good cheer;H1082

I am afraidH3025 of all my sorrows,H6094 I knowH3045 that thou wilt not hold me innocent.H5352

I shall be condemned;H7561 Why then do I laborH3021 in vain?H1892

If I washH7364 myself withH7950 snow water,H4325 And make my handsH3709 neverH1252 so clean;H2141

YetH227 wilt thou plungeH2881 me in the ditch,H7845 And mine own clothesH8008 shall abhorH8581 me.

For he is not a man,H376 as I am, that I should answerH6030 him, That we should comeH935 togetherH3162 in judgment.H4941

There isH3426 no umpireH3198 betwixt us, That might layH7896 his handH3027 upon us both.H8147

Let him takeH5493 his rodH7626 awayH5493 from me, And let not his terrorH367 make me afraid:H367

Then would I speak,H1696 and not fearH3372 him; For I am not so in myself.
