But draw near^H7126 hither, ye sons^H1121 of the sorceress,^H6049 the seed^H2233 of the adulterer^H5003 and the harlot.^H2181

Then^G5119 certain^G5100 of the scribes^G1122 and^G2532 Pharisees^G5330 answered^G611 him, saying,^G3004 Teacher,^G1320 we would^G2309 see^G1492 a sign^G4592 from^G575 thee.^G4675

Therefore,^G5124 behold,^G2400 I^G1473 send^G649 unto^G4314 you^G5209 prophets,^G4396 and^G2532 wise men,^G4680 and^G2532 scribes:^G1122 some of^G1537 them^G846 shall ye kill^G615 and^G2532 crucify;^G4717 and^G2532 some of^G1537 them^G846 shall ye scourge^G3146 in^G1722 your^G5216 synagogues,^G4864 and^G2532 persecute^G1377 from^G575 city^G4172 to^G1519 city:^G4172

For^G1063 whosoever^G302 shall be ashamed^G1870 of me^G3165 and of^G2532 my^G1699 words^G3056 in^G1722 this^G3778 adulterous^G3428 and^G2532 sinful^G268 generation,^G1074 the Son^G5207 of man^G444 also^G2532 shall^G1870 be ashamed^G1870 of him,^G846 when^G3752 he cometh^G2064 in^G1722 the glory^G1391 of^G3962 his^G846 Father^G3962 with^G3326 the^G32 holy^G40 angels.^G32

And^G1161 others,^G2087 trying^G3985 [him], sought^G2212 of^G3844 him^G846 a sign^G4592 from^G1537 heaven.^G3772

In^G1722 the mean time,^G3739 when the many^G3793 thousands of the multitude^G3461 were gathered together,^G1996 insomuch that^G5620 they trod^G2662 one upon another,^G240 he began^G756 to say^G3004 unto^G4314 his^G846 disciples^G3101 first of all,^G4412 Beware^G4337 ye^G1438 of^G575 the leaven^G2219 of the Pharisees,^G5330 which^G3748 is^G2076 hypocrisy.^G5272

The Jews^G2453 therefore^G3767 answered^G611 and^G2532 said^G2036 unto him,^G846 What^G5101 sign^G4592 showest thou^G1166 unto us,^G2254 seeing that^G3754 thou doest^G4160 these things?^G5023

Ye^G5210 are^G2075 of^G1537 [your] father^G3962 the devil,^G1228 and^G2532 the lusts^G1939 of your^G5216 father^G3962 it is your will^G2309 to do.^G4160 He^G1565 was^G2258 a^G2476 murderer^G443 from^G575 the beginning,^G746 and^G2532 standeth^G2476 not^G3756 in^G1722 the truth,^G225 because^G3754 there is^G2076 no^G3756 truth^G225 in^G1722 him.^G846 When^G3752 he speaketh^G2980 a lie,^G5579 he speaketh^G2980 of^G1537 his own:^G2398 for^G3754 he is^G2076 a liar,^G5583 and^G2532 the father^G3962 thereof.^G846

Seeing^{G1894 G2532} that Jews^G2453 ask^G154 for signs,^G4592 and^G2532 Greeks^G1672 seek^G2212 after wisdom:^G4678
