And when he was in distress,^H6887 he besought^H2470 Jehovah^H3068 his God,^H430 and humbled^H3665 himself greatly^H3966 before^H6440 the God^H430 of his fathers.^H1

And he humbled^H3665 not himself before^H6440 Jehovah,^H3068 as Manasseh^H4519 his father^H1 had humbled^H3665 himself; but this same Amon^H526 trespassed^H819 more^H7235 and more.

Wherefore I abhor^H3988 [myself], And repent^H5162 in dust^H6083 and ashes.^H665

For thy name's^H8034 sake, O Jehovah,^H3068 Pardon^H5545 mine iniquity,^H5771 for it is great.^H7227

I said,^H559 O Jehovah,^H3068 have mercy^H2603 upon me: Heal^H7495 my soul;^H5315 For I have sinned^H2398 against thee.

But thou, O Lord,^H136 art a God^H410 merciful^H7349 and gracious,^H2587 Slow^H750 to anger, and abundant^H7227 in lovingkindness^H2617 and truth.^H571

VAV. Let thy lovingkindnesses^H2617 also come^H935 unto me, O Jehovah,^H3068 Even thy salvation,^H8668 according to thy word.^H565

O Israel,^H3478 hope^H3176 in Jehovah;^H3068 For with Jehovah^H3068 there is lovingkindness,^H2617 And with him is plenteous^H7235 redemption.^H6304

Then said^H559 I, Woe^H188 is me! for I am undone;^H1820 because I am a man^H376 of unclean^H2931 lips,^H8193 and I dwell^H3427 in the midst^H8432 of a people^H5971 of unclean^H2931 lips:^H8193 for mine eyes^H5869 have seen^H7200 the King,^H4428 Jehovah^H3068 of hosts.^H6635

I have surely^H8085 heard^H8085 Ephraim^H669 bemoaning^H5110 himself [thus], Thou hast chastised^H3256 me, and I was chastised,^H3256 as a calf^H5695 unaccustomed^H3808 [to the yoke]: turn^H7725 thou me, and I shall be turned;^H7725 for thou art Jehovah^H3068 my God.^H430

we have sinned,^H2398 and have dealt perversely,^H5753 and have done wickedly,^H7561 and have rebelled,^H4775 even turning aside^H5493 from thy precepts^H4687 and from thine ordinances;^H4941

O my God,^H430 incline^H5186 thine ear,^H241 and hear;^H8085 open^H6491 thine eyes,^H5869 and behold^H7200 our desolations,^H8074 and the city^H5892 which is called^H7121 by thy name:^H8034 for we do not present^H5307 our supplications^H8469 before^H6440 thee for our righteousness,^H6666 but for thy great^H7227 mercies'^H7356 sake.

And^G1161 the law^G3551 came^G3922 in besides, that^G2443 the trespass^G3900 might abound;^G4121 but^G1161 where^G3757 sin^G266 abounded,^G4121 grace^G5485 did abound^G5248 more exceedingly:

Faithful^G4103 is the^G3588 saying,^G3056 and^G2532 worthy^G514 of all^G3956 acceptance,^G594 that^G3754 Christ^G5547 Jesus^G2424 came^G2064 into^G1519 the world^G2889 to save^G4982 sinners;^G268 of whom^G3739 I^G1473 am^G1510 chief:^G4413

For^G3754 I will be^G2071 merciful^G2436 to^G93 their^G846 iniquities,^G458 And^G2532 their^G846 sins^G266 will I^G3361 remember^G3415 no^{G3756 G3361} more.^G2089
