And the elders^H2205 of Moab^H4124 and the elders^H2205 of Midian^H4080 departed^H3212 with the rewards of divination^H7081 in their hand;^H3027 and they came^H935 unto Balaam,^H1109 and spake^H1696 unto him the words^H1697 of Balak.^H1111

And his sons^H1121 walked^H1980 not in his ways,^H1870 but turned aside^H5186 after^H310 lucre,^H1215 and took^H3947 bribes,^H7810 and perverted^H5186 justice.^H4941

A wicked^H7563 man receiveth^H3947 a bribe^H7810 out of the bosom,^H2436 To pervert^H5186 the ways^H734 of justice.^H4941

(for they call^H7121 themselves of the holy^H6944 city,^H5892 and stay^H5564 themselves upon the God^H430 of Israel;^H3478 Jehovah^H3068 of hosts^H6635 is his name):^H8034

They have denied^H3584 Jehovah,^H3068 and said,^H559 It is not he; neither shall evil^H7451 come^H935 upon us; neither shall we see^H7200 sword^H2719 nor famine:^H7458

Trust^H982 ye not in lying^H8267 words,^H1697 saying,^H559 The temple^H1964 of Jehovah,^H3068 the temple^H1964 of Jehovah,^H3068 the temple^H1964 of Jehovah,^H3068 are these.

Therefore will I give^H5414 their wives^H802 unto others,^H312 and their fields^H7704 to them that shall possess^H3423 them: for every one from the least^H6996 even unto the greatest^H1419 is given^H1214 to covetousness;^H1215 from the prophet^H5030 even unto the priest^H3548 every one dealeth^H6213 falsely.^H8267

In thee have they taken^H3947 bribes^H7810 to shed^H8210 blood;^H1818 thou hast taken^H3947 interest^H5392 and increase,^H8636 and thou hast greedily gained^H1214 of thy neighbors^H7453 by oppression,^H6233 and hast forgotten^H7911 me, saith^H5002 the Lord^H136 Jehovah.^H3069

Their drink^H5435 is become sour;^H5493 they play the harlot^H2181 continually;^H2181 her rulers^H4043 dearly^H3051 love^H157 shame.^H7036

All the sinners^H2400 of my people^H5971 shall die^H4191 by the sword,^H2719 who say,^H559 The evil^H7451 shall not overtake^H5066 nor meet^H6923 us.

Their hands^H3709 are upon that which is evil^H7451 to do it diligently;^H3190 the prince^H8269 asketh,^H7592 and the judge^H8199 [is ready] for a reward;^H7966 and the great^H1419 man, he uttereth^H1696 the evil^H1942 desire^H5315 of his soul: thus they weave^H5686 it together.

Her prophets^H5030 are light^H6348 and treacherous^H900 persons;^H582 her priests^H3548 have profaned^H2490 the sanctuary,^H6944 they have done violence^H2554 to the law.^H8451

Therefore have I also made^H5414 you contemptible^H959 and base^H8217 before all the people,^H5971 according^H6310 as ye have not kept^H8104 my ways,^H1870 but have had respect^H5375 of persons in the law.^H8451

having^G2192 eyes^G3788 full^G3324 of adultery,^G3428 and^G2532 that cannot cease^G180 from sin;^G266 enticing^G1185 unstedfast^G793 souls;^G2192 having a heart^G2588 exercised^G1128 in covetousness;^G4124 children^G5043 of cursing;^G2671
