For all my father's^H1 house^H1004 were but^H3808 dead^H4194 men^H582 before my lord^H113 the king;^H4428 yet didst thou set^H7896 thy servant^H5650 among them that did eat^H398 at thine own table.^H7979 What right^H6666 therefore have^H3426 I yet that I should cry^H2199 any more unto the king?^H4428

And king^H4428 Rehoboam^H7346 took counsel^H3289 with the old men,^H2205 that had stood^H5975 before^H6440 Solomon^H8010 his father^H1 while he yet lived,^H2416 saying,^H559 What counsel^H3289 give ye me to return^H7725 answer^H1697 to this people?^H5971

But he forsook^H5800 the counsel^H6098 of the old men^H2205 which they had given^H3289 him, and took counsel^H3289 with the young men^H3206 that were grown up^H1431 with him, that stood^H5975 before^H6440 him.

For now ye are nothing; Ye see^H7200 a terror,^H2866 and are afraid.^H3372

He^H376 that maketh many friends^H7453 [doeth it] to his own destruction;^H7489 But there is^H3426 a friend^H157 that sticketh closer^H1695 than a brother.^H251

But look^H7200 not thou on the day^H3117 of thy brother^H251 in the day^H3117 of his disaster,^H5235 and rejoice^H8055 not over the children^H1121 of Judah^H3063 in the day^H3117 of their destruction;^H6 neither speak^H6310 proudly^H1431 in the day^H3117 of distress.^H6869
