A nd NaomiH5281 her mother-in-lawH2545 saidH559 unto her, My daughter,H1323 shall I not seekH1245 restH4494 for thee, that it may be wellH3190 with thee?

And now is not BoazH1162 our kinsman,H4130 with whose maidensH5291 thou wast? Behold, he winnowethH2219 barleyH8184 to-nightH3915 in the threshing-floor.H1637

WashH7364 thyself therefore, and anointH5480 thee, and putH7760 thy raimentH8071 upon thee, and get thee downH3381 to the threshing-floor,H1637 but make not thyself knownH3045 unto the man,H376 until he shall have doneH3615 eatingH398 and drinking.H8354

And it shall be, when he lieth down,H7901 that thou shalt markH3045 the placeH4725 where he shall lie,H7901 and thou shalt go in,H935 and uncoverH1540 his feet,H4772 and lay thee down;H7901 and he will tellH5046 thee what thou shalt do.H6213

And she saidH559 unto her, All that thou sayestH559 I will do.H6213

And she went downH3381 unto the threshing-floor,H1637 and didH6213 according to all that her mother-in-lawH2545 badeH6680 her.

And when BoazH1162 had eatenH398 and drunk,H8354 and his heartH3820 was merry,H3190 he wentH935 to lie downH7901 at the endH7097 of the heap of grain:H6194 and she cameH935 softly,H3909 and uncoveredH1540 his feet,H4772 and laid her down.H7901

And it came to pass at midnight,H2677 that the manH376 was afraid,H2729 and turnedH3943 himself; and, behold, a womanH802 layH7901 at his feet.H4772

And he said,H559 Who art thou? And she answered,H559 I am RuthH7327 thy handmaid:H519 spreadH6566 therefore thy skirtH3671 over thy handmaid;H519 for thou art a near kinsman.H1350

And he said,H559 BlessedH1288 be thou of Jehovah,H3068 my daughter:H1323 thou hast showedH3190 more kindnessH2617 in the latter endH314 than at the beginning,H7223 inasmuch as thou followedstH3212 notH1115 young men,H970 whether poorH1800 or rich.H6223

And now, my daughter,H1323 fearH3372 not; I will doH6213 to thee all that thou sayest;H559 for all the cityH8179 of my peopleH5971 doth knowH3045 that thou art a worthyH2428 woman.H802

And now it is trueH551 that I am a near kinsman;H1350 howbeit there isH3426 a kinsmanH1350 nearerH7138 than I.

TarryH3885 this night,H3915 and it shall be in the morning,H1242 that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman,H1350 well;H2896 let him do the kinsman's part:H1350 but if he willH2654 not do the part of a kinsmanH1350 to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsmanH1350 to thee, as JehovahH3068 liveth:H2416 lie downH7901 until the morning.H1242

And she layH7901 at his feetH4772 until the morning.H1242 And she rose upH6965 beforeH2958 oneH376 could discernH5234 another.H7453 For he said,H559 Let it not be knownH3045 that the womanH802 cameH935 to the threshing-floor.H1637

And he said,H559 BringH3051 the mantleH4304 that is upon thee, and holdH270 it; and she heldH270 it; and he measuredH4058 sixH8337 [measures] of barley,H8184 and laidH7896 it on her: and he wentH935 into the city.H5892

And when she cameH935 to her mother-in-law,H2545 she said,H559 Who art thou, my daughter?H1323 And she toldH559 her all that the manH376 had doneH6213 to her.

And she said,H559 These sixH8337 [measures] of barleyH8184 gaveH5414 he me; for he said,H559 GoH935 not emptyH7387 unto thy mother-in-law.H2545

Then saidH559 she, Sit still,H3427 my daughter,H1323 until thou knowH3045 how the matterH1697 will fall;H5307 for the manH376 will not rest,H8252 untilH518 he have finishedH3615 the thingH1697 this day.H3117
