Thou shalt not oppresse a straunger: for ye know the heart of a straunger, seyng ye were straungers in the lande of Egypt.

If thy brother be waxed poore, and hath solde away of his possession, and yf any of his kinne come to redeeme it, let hym bye out that which his brother solde.

If one of thy brethren among you be poore within any of thy gates in thy lande which the Lorde thy God geueth thee: thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut to thine hande from thy poore brother:

Thou shalt not oppresse an hyred seruaunt that is needie and poore, whether he be of thy brethre, or of the straungers that are in thy lande within thy gates:

If I denied the poore of their desire, or haue caused the eyes of the wydow to wayte in vayne:

To the chiefe musition, a psalme of Dauid. Blessed is he that considereth ye poore: God wyll delyuer hym in the tyme of trouble.

He hath distributed abrode, he hath geuen to the poore: his righteousnes remayneth for euer, his horne shalbe exalted with glory.

He that doth a poore man wrong, blasphemeth his maker: but who so honoureth him, hath pitie on the poore.

He that hath pitie vpon the poore, lendeth vnto the Lord: and looke what he layeth out, it shalbe payde hym agayne.

For ye haue poore with you alwayes, and whensoeuer ye wyll, ye may do the good: but me haue ye not alwayes.

For the poore alwayes shall ye haue with you: but me haue ye not alwayes.

Distributyng to ye necessitie of saintes, geuen to hospitalitie.

Therfore, yf thyne enemie hunger, feede hym: yf he thyrst, geue him drinke. For in so doyng, thou shalt heape coales of fyre on his head.

Of the ministryng to the saintes, it is but superfluous for me to write vnto you:

Onely that we shoulde remember the poore: Wherin also I was diligent to do the same.

Hearken my deare beloued brethren. Hath not God chosen the poore of this worlde, such as are riche in fayth, and heyres of the kyngdome, which he promised to them that loue hym?
