Then the King of Egypt called for the midwiues, and sayde vnto them, Why haue yee done thus, and haue preserued aliue the men children?
Haue not I commanded thee, saying, Be strong and of a good courage, feare not, nor be discouraged? for I the Lord thy God will be with thee, whithersoeuer thou goest.
Afterwarde when the man arose to depart with his concubine and his seruant, his father in lawe, the yong womans father said vnto him, Beholde nowe, the day draweth towarde euen: I pray you, tary all night: beholde, the sunne goeth to rest: lodge here, that thine heart may be merie, and to morowe get you earely vpon your way, and goe to thy tent.
And when Boaz had eaten, and drunken, and cheared his heart, he went to lie downe at the end of the heape of corne, & she came softly, and vncouered the place of his feet, & lay downe.
And the King sayde vnto the sergeantes that stoode about him, Turne, & slay the Priestes of the Lorde, because their hand also is with Dauid, and because they knewe when he fled, and shewed it not vnto mee. But the seruantes of the King would not moue their hands to fall vpon the Priests of the Lord.
And Saul sware to her by the Lorde, saying, As the Lord liueth, no harme shall come to thee for this thing.
Then Dauid called him, and hee did eate and drinke before him, & he made him drunke: and at euen he went out to lie on his couch with the seruants of his Lorde, but went not downe to his house.
Now therefore the sworde shall neuer depart from thine house, because thou hast despised me, and taken the wife of Vriah the Hittite to be thy wife.
And they went out at noone: but Ben-hadad did drinke till he was drunken in the tentes, both he and the Kings: for two and thirtie Kings helped him.
And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oyle to make the face to shine, and bread that strengtheneth mans heart.
They prepare bread for laughter, and wine comforteth the liuing, but siluer answereth to all.
The same night was Belshazzar the King of the Caldeans slaine.
Take heede to your selues, lest at any time your hearts be oppressed with surfeting and drunkennesse, and cares of this life, and least that day come on you at vnwares.
