But I require that thou cut not off thy mercie from mine house for euer: no, not when the Lorde hath destroyed the enemies of Dauid, euery one from the earth.
Therefore Ionathan said to Dauid, Goe in peace: that which we haue sworne both of vs in the Name of the Lorde, saying, The Lorde be betweene me and thee, and betweene my seede and betweene thy seede, let it stand for euer. (20:43) And he arose and departed, and Ionathan went into the citie.
(24:23) So Dauid sware vnto Saul, and Saul went home: but Dauid & his men went vp vnto ye hold.
And Dauid sayde, Is there yet any man left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him mercie for Ionathans sake?
Then Dauid sayd vnto him, Feare not: for I wil surely shewe thee kindnes for Ionathan thy fathers sake, and will restore thee all the fieldes of Saul thy father, and thou shalt eate bread at my table continually.
Then said the King to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that perteined vnto Mephibosheth; Ziba saide, I beseech thee, let me finde grace in thy sight, my lord, O King.
