Then Kain spake to Habel his brother; when they were in the fielde, Kain rose vp against Habel his brother, and slewe him.
And Satan stoode vp against Israel, and prouoked Dauid to nomber Israel.
And he saide, I will goe out, and bee a false spirit in the mouth of all his Prophets; hee said, Thou shalt perswade, and shalt also preuaile: goe forth and do so.
And Satan answered the Lorde, and sayde, Skin for skin, and all that euer a man hath, will he giue for his life.
Iesus answered them, Haue not I chosen you twelue, and one of you is a deuill?
Ye do the workes of your father. Then said they to him, We are not borne of fornication: we haue one Father, which is God.
And sayde, O full of all subtiltie and all mischiefe, the childe of the deuill, and enemie of all righteousnesse, wilt thou not cease to peruert the straight waies of the Lord?
But I feare least as the serpent beguiled Eue through his subtiltie, so your mindes shoulde be corrupt fro the simplicitie that is in Christ.
Euen him whose comming is by the effectuall working of Satan, with all power, and signes, and lying wonders,
Be sober, and watch: for your aduersarie the deuil as a roaring lyon walketh about, seeking whom he may deuoure:
Hee that saith, I knowe him, and keepeth not his commaundements, is a liar, and the trueth is not in him.
Not as Cain which was of that wicked one, and slewe his brother: and wherefore slewe he him? because his owne workes were euill, and his brothers good.
The Angels also which kept not their first estate, but left their owne habitation, hee hath reserued in euerlasting chaines vnder darkenesse vnto the iudgement of the great day.
And they haue a King ouer them, which is the Angel of the bottomlesse pit, whose name in Hebrewe is Abaddon, and in Greeke he is named Apollyon, that is, destroying.
And he opened his mouth vnto blasphemie against God, to blaspheme his Name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heauen.
And he tooke the dragon that olde serpent, which is the deuill and Satan, and he bounde him a thousand yeeres:
But the fearful and vnbeleeuing, and the abominable and murtherers, and whoremogers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, & all liars shall haue their part in the lake, which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
