Who answered, Thy seruant our father is in good health, he is yet aliue: and they bowed downe, and made obeysance.

And all the Kings seruants that were at the Kings gate, bowed their knees, & reuerenced Haman: for the King had so commaunded concerning him: but Mordecai bowed not the knee, neither did reuerence.

They were the children of fooles and the children of villaines, which were more vile then the earth.

But in mine aduersitie they reioyced, and gathered them selues together: the abiects assembled themselues against me, and knewe not: they tare me and ceased not,

Thou hast knowen my reproofe and my shame, and my dishonour: all mine aduersaries are before thee.

Thus sayeth the Lorde the redeemer of Israel, and his Holie one, to him that is despised in soule, to a nation that is abhorred, to a seruaunt of rulers, Kinges shall see, and arise, and princes shall worship, because of the Lord, that is faithfull: and ye Holy one of Israel, which hath chosen thee.

As many were astonied at thee (his visage was so deformed of men, and his forme of the sonnes of men)

Nowe assemble thy garisons, O daughter of garisons: he hath layed siege against vs: they shall smite the iudge of Israel with a rod vpon the cheeke.

And he answered, and said vnto them, Elias verely shall first come, and restore all things: and as it is written of the Sonne of man, hee must suffer many things, and be set at nought.

And some began to spit at him, and to couer his face, and to beate him with fists, and to say vnto him, Prophesie; the sergeants smote him with their roddes.

And the men that helde Iesus, mocked him, and strooke him.

The souldiers also mocked him, and came and offered him vineger,

But why doest thou condemne thy brother? Or why doest thou despise thy brother? for we shal all appeare before the iudgement seate of Christ.

Looking vnto Iesus the authour and finisher of our faith, who for the ioy that was set before him, endured the crosse, and despised the shame, and is set at the right hand of the throne of God.
