Wherefore the people contended with Moses, and sayde, Giue vs water that we may drinke; Moses sayde vnto them, Why contende yee with me? wherefore do ye tempt the Lord?
While the flesh was yet betweene their teeth, before it was chewed, euen the wrath of the Lorde was kindled against the people, and the Lorde smote the people with an exceeding great plague.
And the men which Moses had sent to search the land (which, when they came againe, made all the people to murmure against him, and brought vp a slander vpon the lande)
And assoone as he had made an ende of speaking all these wordes, euen the ground claue asunder that was vnder them,
Because it shut not vp the dores of my mothers wombe: nor hid sorowe from mine eyes.
