He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, [and] lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set [them] among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth [are] the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them.

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, [and] lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
¶ Better [is] the poor that walketh in his integrity, than [he that is] perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.
And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, ‹Behold my mother and my brethren!›
And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, ‹Behold my mother and my brethren!›
¶ And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, ‹Blessed› [be ye] ‹poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.›
‹There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you› [yourselves] ‹thrust out.›
‹But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.›
Confirming the souls of the disciples, [and] exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
¶ Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
¶ And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
