‹Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.›

¶ And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,

And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and [of] the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

[Saying], ‹Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:›

‹Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.›

He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

And said unto them, ‹Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:›

¶ For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the [same] night in which he was betrayed took bread:
