¶ Wherefore [is there] a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing [he hath] no heart [to it]?
¶ A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
¶ Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? [there is] more hope of a fool than of him.

¶ Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
