And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, [or] to be with her.

¶ And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name [was] Delilah.

And, behold, there met him a woman [with] the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

But he knoweth not that the dead [are] there; [and that] her guests [are] in the depths of hell.

And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart [is] snares and nets, [and] her hands [as] bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.

Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.

¶ And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
