The sword will make people childless outside, and terror will do so inside; they will destroy both the young man and the virgin, the infant and the gray-haired man.

The nations will be burned to ashes; like thorn bushes that have been cut down, they will be set on fire.

Then I said,“There is no cure for my grief! I am sick at heart!

‘You have said,“I feel so hopeless! For the LORD has added sorrow to my suffering. I am worn out from groaning. I can’t find any rest.”’”

Paul Travels Through Macedonia and Greece After the disturbance had ended, Paul sent for the disciples, and after encouraging them and saying farewell, he left to go to Macedonia.

Paul’s Plans to Visit But I will come to you after I have gone through Macedonia– for I will be going through Macedonia–

And I wrote this very thing to you, so that when I came I would not have sadness from those who ought to make me rejoice, since I am confident in you all that my joy would be yours.

I had no relief in my spirit, because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said goodbye to them and set out for Macedonia.

Are they servants of Christ?(I am talking like I am out of my mind!) I am even more so: with much greater labors, with far more imprisonments, with more severe beatings, facing death many times.

I fear for you that my work for you may have been in vain.

So when I could bear it no longer, I sent to find out about your faith, for fear that the tempter somehow tempted you and our toil had proven useless.
