For the LORD’s decrees are just, and everything he does is fair.

I know, LORD, that your regulations are just. You disciplined me because of your faithful devotion to me.

The LORD of Heaven’s Armies will be exalted when he punishes, the holy God’s authority will be recognized when he judges.

Then you will remember, be ashamed, and remain silent because of your disgrace when I make atonement for all you have done, declares the Sovereign LORD.’”

The king uttered these words:“Is this not the great Babylon that I have built for a royal residence by my own mighty strength and for my majestic honor?”

As they drank wine, they praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze, iron, wood, and stone.

Jesus’ Invitation At that time Jesus said,“I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to little children.

But he gives greater grace. Therefore it says,“God opposes the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.”

In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Then I heard the altar reply,“Yes, Lord God, the All-Powerful, your judgments are true and just!”
