TSK · Deuteronomy 5:4

Now Mount Sinai was completely covered with smoke because the LORD had descended on it in fire, and its smoke went up like the smoke of a great furnace, and the whole mountain shook violently.

All the people were seeing the thundering and the lightning, and heard the sound of the horn, and saw the mountain smoking– and when the people saw it they trembled with fear and kept their distance.

With him I will speak face to face, openly, and not in riddles; and he will see the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”

Then the LORD spoke to you from the middle of the fire; you heard speech but you could not see anything– only a voice was heard.

Have a people ever heard the voice of God speaking from the middle of fire, as you yourselves have, and lived to tell about it?

The Narrative of the Sinai Revelation and Israel’s Response The LORD said these things to your entire assembly at the mountain from the middle of the fire, the cloud, and the darkness with a loud voice, and that was all he said. Then he inscribed the words on two stone tablets and gave them to me.

No prophet ever again arose in Israel like Moses, who knew the LORD face to face.
