TSK · Exodus 17:9

The LORD said to him,“What is that in your hand?” He said,“A staff.”

So Joshua destroyed Amalek and his army with the sword.

So Moses set out with Joshua his attendant, and Moses went up the mountain of God.

Joshua son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his choice young men, said,“My lord Moses, stop them!”

These are the names of the men whom Moses sent to investigate the land. And Moses gave Hoshea son of Nun the name Joshua.

So Moses spoke to the people:“Arm men from among you for the war, to attack the Midianites and to execute the LORD’s vengeance on Midian.

Joshua and the whole army marched against Ai. Joshua selected thirty thousand brave warriors and sent them out at night.

Our ancestors received possession of it and brought it in with Joshua when they dispossessed the nations that God drove out before our ancestors, until the time of David.
