When Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses,“It is the sound of war in the camp!”

The rams’ horns sounded and when the army heard the signal, they gave a loud battle cry. The wall collapsed and the warriors charged straight ahead into the city and captured it.

At the sound of the trumpet, it says,‘Aha!’ And from a distance it catches the scent of battle, the thunderous shouting of commanders, and the battle cries.

For I, the LORD God of Israel, have something more to say about the houses in this city and the royal buildings of Judah which have been torn down for defenses against the siege ramps and military incursions of the Babylonians:

King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came against Jerusalem with his whole army and set up camp outside it. They built siege ramps all around it. He arrived on the tenth day of the tenth month in the ninth year that Zedekiah ruled over Judah.

A third of your people will die of plague or be overcome by the famine within you. A third of your people will fall by the sword surrounding you, and a third I will scatter to the winds. I will unleash a sword behind them.

He will direct the blows of his battering rams against your walls and tear down your towers with his weapons.
