Jacob Meets Esau Jacob looked up and saw that Esau was coming along with four hundred men. So he divided the children among Leah, Rachel, and the two female servants.

So Esau said,“Let me leave some of my men with you.”“Why do that?” Jacob replied.“My lord has already been kind enough to me.”

They replied,“You have saved our lives! You are showing us favor, and we will be Pharaoh’s slaves.”

She said,“You really are being kind to me, sir, for you have reassured and encouraged me, your servant, even though I will never be like one of your servants!”

Disaster will be inescapable, as if a man ran from a lion only to meet a bear, then escaped into a house, leaned his hand against the wall, and was bitten by a poisonous snake.
