When Israel saw the great power that the LORD had exercised over the Egyptians, they feared the LORD, and they believed in the LORD and in his servant Moses.

“O, Sovereign LORD, you have begun to show me your greatness and strength.(What god in heaven or earth can rival your works and mighty deeds?)

So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab as the LORD had said.

Make sure you are very strong and brave! Carefully obey all the law my servant Moses charged you to keep! Do not swerve from it to the right or to the left, so that you may be successful in all you do.

just as Moses the LORD’s servant had commanded the Israelites. As described in the law scroll of Moses, it was made with uncut stones untouched by an iron tool. On it they offered burnt sacrifices to the LORD and sacrificed tokens of peace.

You made known to them your holy Sabbath; you issued commandments, statutes, and law to them through Moses your servant.

The Faithful and Wise Slave“Who then is the faithful and wise slave, whom the master has put in charge of his household, to give the other slaves their food at the proper time?

The Lord replied,“Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his household servants, to give them their allowance of food at the proper time?

Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things written about himself in all the scriptures.

You study the scriptures thoroughly because you think in them you possess eternal life, and it is these same scriptures that testify about me,

Moses said,‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must obey him in everything he tells you.

They set a day to meet with him, and they came to him where he was staying in even greater numbers. From morning until evening he explained things to them, testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus from both the law of Moses and the prophets.

Now what is sought in stewards is that one be found faithful.

who is faithful to the one who appointed him, as Moses was also in God’s house.

The Holy Spirit is making clear that the way into the holy place had not yet appeared as long as the old tabernacle was standing.

Concerning this salvation, the prophets who predicted the grace that would come to you searched and investigated carefully.
