But to Adam he said,“Because you obeyed your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you,‘You must not eat from it,’ the ground is cursed because of you; in painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.

He named him Noah, saying,“This one will bring us comfort from our labor and from the painful toil of our hands because of the ground that the LORD has cursed.”

So the LORD has uprooted them from their land in anger, wrath, and great rage and has deported them to another land, as is clear today.”

A Love Song Gone Sour I will sing to my love– a song to my lover about his vineyard. My love had a vineyard on a fertile hill.

They will be like a shrub in the arid rift valley. They will not experience good things even when they happen. It will be as though they were growing in the stony wastes in the wilderness, in a salt land where no one can live.

“Son of man, of all the woody branches among the trees of the forest, what happens to the wood of the vine?

(3:19)“For indeed the day is coming, burning like a furnace, and all the arrogant evildoers will be chaff. The coming day will burn them up,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.“It will not leave them even a root or branch.

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

He said to it,“May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.

So he said to the worker who tended the vineyard,‘For three years now, I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and each time I inspect it I find none. Cut it down! Why should it continue to deplete the soil?’

but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume God’s enemies.

If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.
