So he saves from the sword that comes from their mouth, even the poor from the hand of the powerful.

“Because of the violence done to the oppressed, because of the painful cries of the needy, I will spring into action,” says the LORD.“I will provide the safety they so desperately desire.”

He will defend the oppressed among the people; he will deliver the children of the poor and crush the oppressor.

As for you, the one who lives in the shelter of the Most High, and resides in the protective shadow of the Sovereign One–

I hold fast to your rules. O LORD, do not let me be ashamed!

By day it will be a shelter to provide shade from the heat, as well as safety and protection from the heavy downpour.

How will they respond to the messengers of this nation? Indeed, the LORD has made Zion secure; the oppressed among his people will find safety in her.

My people will live in peaceful settlements, in secure homes, and in safe, quiet places.
