for the LORD determined to make them obstinate so they would attack Israel. He wanted Israel to annihilate them without mercy, as he had instructed Moses.

They come from a distant land, from the horizon. It is the LORD with his instruments of judgment, coming to destroy the whole earth.

On every high mountain and every high hill there will be streams flowing with water, at the time of great slaughter when the fortified towers collapse.

For the LORD judges all humanity with fire and his sword; the LORD will kill many.

The sounds of battle will resound to the ends of the earth. For the LORD will bring charges against the nations. He will pass judgment on all humankind and will hand the wicked over to be killed in war.’ The LORD so affirms it!

Judgment in the Valley of Jehoshaphat Proclaim this among the nations:“Prepare for a holy war! Call out the warriors! Let all these fighting men approach and attack!

God Takes Vengeance against His Enemies The LORD is a zealous and avenging God; the LORD is avenging and very angry. The LORD takes vengeance against his foes; he sustains his rage against his enemies.

Then the LORD will go to battle and fight against those nations, just as he fought battles in ancient days.

The Condemnation of the Unrighteous For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth by their unrighteousness,

Then another angel came out of the temple, shouting in a loud voice to the one seated on the cloud,“Use your sickle and start to reap, because the time to reap has come, since the earth’s harvest is ripe!”

They went up on the broad plain of the earth and encircled the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and devoured them completely.
