TSK · Job 3:5

You approached and stood at the foot of the mountain, a mountain ablaze to the sky above it and yet dark with a thick cloud.

to the land of utter darkness, like the deepest darkness, and the deepest shadow and disorder, where even the light is like darkness.”

For all of them, the morning is to them like deep darkness; they are friends with the terrors of darkness.

There is no darkness, and no deep darkness, where evildoers can hide themselves.

Even when I must walk through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff reassure me.

They sat in utter darkness, bound in painful iron chains,

(9:1) The people walking in darkness see a bright light; light shines on those who live in a land of deep darkness.

Because of this the land will mourn and the sky above will grow black. For I have made my purpose known and I will not relent or turn back from carrying it out.”

For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near; it will be a day of storm clouds, it will be a time of judgment for the nations.

It will be a day of dreadful darkness, a day of foreboding storm clouds, like blackness spread over the mountains. It is a huge and powerful army– there has never been anything like it ever before, and there will not be anything like it for many generations to come!

I will turn your festivals into funerals, and all your songs into funeral dirges. I will make everyone wear funeral clothes and cause every head to be shaved bald. I will make you mourn as if you had lost your only son; when it ends it will indeed have been a bitter day.

to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
