The Baptism of Jesus Then Jesus came from Galilee to John to be baptized by him in the Jordan River.

John answered them all,“I baptize you with water, but one more powerful than I am is coming– I am not worthy to untie the strap of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Jesus answered,“I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

The Gentiles Receive the Holy Spirit While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the message.
