Now the Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We saw his glory– the glory of the one and only, full of grace and truth, who came from the Father.
No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven– the Son of Man.
Jesus answered her,“If you had known the gift of God and who it is who said to you,‘Give me some water to drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
Then the Jews who were hostile to Jesus began to argue with one another,“How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
In other words, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting people’s trespasses against them, and he has given us the message of reconciliation.
and live in love, just as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.
He gave himself for us to set us free from every kind of lawlessness and to purify for himself a people who are truly his, who are eager to do good.
by the fresh and living way that he inaugurated for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,
and he himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for our sins but also for the whole world.
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.
