The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you– from your fellow Israelites; you must listen to him.

You should respond to my rebuke. Then I would pour out my thoughts to you; I would make my words known to you.

This desolation will continue until new life is poured out on us from heaven. Then the wilderness will become an orchard and the orchard will be considered a forest.

An Outpouring of the Spirit(3:1) After all of this I will pour out my Spirit on all kinds of people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your elderly will have prophetic dreams; your young men will see visions.

And the crowds were saying,“This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.”

Fear seized them all, and they began to glorify God, saying,“A great prophet has appeared among us!” and“God has come to help his people!”

So they asked him,“Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said,“I am not!”“Are you the Prophet?” He answered,“No!”

And I did not recognize him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me,‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining– this is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

There was a lot of grumbling about him among the crowds. Some were saying,“He is a good man,” but others,“He deceives the common people.”

Jesus replied,“The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you.

And now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory I had with you before the world was created.

While he was with them, he declared,“Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait there for what my Father promised, which you heard about from me.

‘And in the last days it will be,’ God says,‘that I will pour out my Spirit on all people, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

Peter said to them,“Repent, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Moses said,‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must obey him in everything he tells you.

You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him.

And when you heard the word of truth(the gospel of your salvation)– when you believed in Christ– you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit,
