The nations will hear and tremble; anguish will seize the inhabitants of Philistia.

Then the LORD put a message in Balaam’s mouth and said,“Return to Balak, and speak what I tell you.”

Then Balak became very angry at Balaam, and he struck his hands together. Balak said to Balaam,“I called you to curse my enemies, and look, you have done nothing but bless them these three times!

They told Joshua,“Surely the LORD is handing over all the land to us! All who live in the land are cringing before us!”

He said to them,“Follow me, for the LORD is about to defeat your enemies, the Moabites!” They followed him, captured the fords of the Jordan River opposite Moab, and did not let anyone cross.

The Lord had caused the Syrian camp to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a large army. Then they said to one another,“Look, the king of Israel has paid the kings of the Hittites and Egypt to attack us!”
