TSK · Leviticus 25:17

Abraham replied,“Because I thought,‘Surely no one fears God in this place. They will kill me because of my wife.’

There is no one greater in this household than I am. He has withheld nothing from me except you because you are his wife. So how could I do such a great evil and sin against God?”

Moses said to the people,“Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you so that you do not sin.”

You must not curse a deaf person or put a stumbling block in front of a blind person. You must fear your God; I am the LORD.

If you make a sale to your fellow citizen or buy from your fellow citizen, no one is to wrong his brother.

You must not rule over him harshly, but you must fear your God.

However, fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart. Just look at the great things he has done for you!

Then I said,“The thing that you are doing is wrong! Should you not conduct yourselves in the fear of our God in order to avoid the reproach of the Gentiles who are our enemies?

The commands to fear the LORD are right and endure forever. The judgments given by the LORD are trustworthy and absolutely just.

Through loyal love and truth iniquity is appeased; through fearing the LORD one avoids evil.

The LORD comes to pronounce judgment on the leaders of his people and their officials. He says,“It is you who have ruined the vineyard! You have stashed in your houses what you have stolen from the poor.

He upheld the cause of the poor and needy. So things went well for Judah.’ The LORD says,‘That is a good example of what it means to know me.’

But I will warn you whom you should fear: Fear the one who, after the killing, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!

He was a devout, God-fearing man, as was all his household; he did many acts of charity for the people and prayed to God regularly.

“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

In this matter no one should violate the rights of his brother or take advantage of him, because the Lord is the avenger in all these cases, as we also told you earlier and warned you solemnly.
