In his pain Manasseh asked the LORD his God for mercy and truly humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.

He did not humble himself before the LORD as his father Manasseh had done. Amon was guilty of great sin.

Therefore I despise myself, and I repent in dust and ashes!

For the sake of your reputation, O LORD, forgive my sin, because it is great.

As for me, I said:“O LORD, have mercy on me! Heal me, for I have sinned against you!

But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient and demonstrate great loyal love and faithfulness.

ו(Vav) May I experience your loyal love, O LORD, and your deliverance, as you promised.

O Israel, hope in the LORD, for the LORD exhibits loyal love, and is more than willing to deliver.

I said,“Woe to me! I am destroyed, for my lips are contaminated by sin, and I live among people whose lips are contaminated by sin. My eyes have seen the king, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.”

I have indeed heard the people of Israel say mournfully,‘We were like a calf untrained to the yoke. You disciplined us and we learned from it. Let us come back to you and we will do so, for you are the LORD our God.

we have sinned! We have done what is wrong and wicked; we have rebelled by turning away from your commandments and standards.

Listen attentively, my God, and hear! Open your eyes and look on our desolated ruins and the city called by your name. For it is not because of our own righteous deeds that we are praying to you, but because your compassion is abundant.

But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying,“Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!”

I will get up and go to my father and say to him,“Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.

But the other rebuked him, saying,“Don’t you fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?

The Response to Peter’s Address Now when they heard this, they were acutely distressed and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“What should we do, brothers?”

Now the law came in so that the transgression may increase, but where sin increased, grace multiplied all the more,

This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance:“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”– and I am the worst of them!

“For I will be merciful toward their evil deeds, and their sins I will remember no longer.”
