First Prediction of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection From that time on Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and experts in the law, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.

“Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the experts in the law. They will condemn him to death,

“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

He is not here, but has been raised! Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee,

Jesus replied,“Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up again.”

Jesus replied,“Do you now believe?

this man, who was handed over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you executed by nailing him to a cross at the hands of Gentiles.

“For indeed both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, assembled together in this city against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,

Warning Against Drifting Away Therefore we must pay closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.
