God said,“No, Sarah your wife is going to bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac. I will confirm my covenant with him as a perpetual covenant for his descendants after him.
One of them said,“I will surely return to you when the season comes round again, and your wife Sarah will have a son!”(Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, not far behind him.
He said,“About this time next year you will be holding a son.” She said,“No, my master! O prophet, do not lie to your servant!”
At that time you will say:“I praise you, O LORD, for even though you were angry with me, your anger subsided, and you consoled me.
Under his rule Judah will enjoy safety and Israel will live in security. This is the name he will go by:‘The LORD has provided us with justice.’
I will sprinkle you with pure water and you will be clean from all your impurities. I will purify you from all your idols.
Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Look! Your king is coming to you: he is legitimate and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey– on a young donkey, the foal of a female donkey.
Listen: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.
Today your Savior is born in the city of David. He is Christ the Lord.
On the next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said,“Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

From the descendants of this man God brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, just as he promised.

But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
And you know that Jesus was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.
So I said to him,“My lord, you know the answer.” Then he said to me,“These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb!
