Solomon’s Vineyard and the Beloved’s VineyardThe Beloved to Her Lover: Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-Hamon; he leased out the vineyard to those who maintained it. Each was to bring a thousand shekels of silver for its fruit.

Then he said to his disciples,“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

The Parable of the Mustard Seed He gave them another parable:“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field.

Parables on the Kingdom of Heaven“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure, hidden in a field, that a person found and hid. Then because of joy he went and sold all that he had and bought that field.

The Parable of the Two Sons“What do you think? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said,‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’

“The kingdom of heaven can be compared to a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

It is like a man going on a journey. He left his house and put his slaves in charge, assigning to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to stay alert.

So then, dear brothers and sisters, be firm. Do not be moved! Always be outstanding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith excellence, to excellence, knowledge;
