TSK · Nehemiah 9:13

and be ready for the third day, for on the third day the LORD will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.

Now Mount Sinai was completely covered with smoke because the LORD had descended on it in fire, and its smoke went up like the smoke of a great furnace, and the whole mountain shook violently.

The Altar The LORD said to Moses:“Thus you will tell the Israelites:‘You yourselves have seen that I have spoken with you from heaven.

You stood before the LORD your God at Horeb and he said to me,“Assemble the people before me so that I can tell them my commands. Then they will learn to revere me all the days they live in the land, and they will instruct their children.”

The LORD spoke face to face with you at the mountain, from the middle of the fire.

An Exhortation to Love Both God and People Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you except to revere him, to obey all his commandments, to love him, to serve him with all your mind and being,

You must carefully obey at all times the rules, regulations, law, and commandments he wrote down for you. You must not worship other gods.

The law of the LORD is perfect and preserves one’s life. The rules set down by the LORD are reliable and impart wisdom to the inexperienced.

For this reason I love your commands more than gold, even purest gold.

Your instructions are totally reliable; all your just regulations endure.

When you performed awesome deeds that took us by surprise, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.

God comes from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His splendor has covered the skies, the earth is full of his glory.

But if I do what I don’t want, I agree that the law is good.
