The Clothing of the Priests“And you, bring near to you your brother Aaron and his sons with him from among the Israelites, so that they may minister as my priests– Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons.

These must be on Aaron and his sons when they enter to the tent of meeting, or when they approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they bear no iniquity and die. It is to be a perpetual ordinance for him and for his descendants after him.

Moses then said to Aaron,“This is what the LORD spoke:‘Among the ones close to me I will show myself holy, and in the presence of all the people I will be honored.’” So Aaron kept silent.

He must not go out from the sanctuary and must not profane the sanctuary of his God, because the dedication of the anointing oil of his God is on him. I am the LORD.

And the staff of the man whom I choose will blossom; so I will rid myself of the complaints of the Israelites, which they murmur against you.”

How blessed is the one whom you choose, and allow to live in your palace courts. May we be satisfied with the good things of your house– your holy palace.

O family of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their deliverer and protector.

and the chamber which faces north is for the priests who keep charge of the altar. These are the descendants of Zadok, from the descendants of Levi, who may approach the LORD to minister to him.”

Then once more you will see that I make a distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between the one who serves God and the one who does not.

until the day he was taken up to heaven, after he had given orders by the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,“Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Then he said,‘The God of our ancestors has already chosen you to know his will, to see the Righteous One, and to hear a command from his mouth,

Take your share of suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

Drawing Near to God in Enduring Faith Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,

you yourselves, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood and to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

They were singing a new song:“You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because you were killed, and at the cost of your own blood you have purchased for God persons from every tribe, language, people, and nation.
